How every break works

  • Every box and case is factory sealed and opened live on stream, start to finish, with the product in view.
  • Product is never searched, weighed, or opened ahead of time.
  • Each break’s page lists the product, the number of boxes, every spot, and its price in US dollars (USD) before you buy.
  • You own a spot (a team, driver, player or other group). You get every card from that break that belongs to your spot, including base cards.
  • Listed times are when the show starts. Your break may run a little earlier or later in the show.
  • Recordings of the stream are our record of what was pulled.

Break types

Pick your spot (PYT, PYP, PYD and similar): you choose exactly which team, player or driver you want, at the price shown for that spot. Prices differ by spot.

Random spots: you buy into the break and your spot is assigned at random on stream. These are only run where we believe it’s allowed, and may not be offered at all.

The break page tells you which type it is before you buy.

Buying a spot

  • You need an account, a shipping address, and to be 18 or older.
  • When you start checking out, your spots are held for you for 15 minutes. If you don’t finish, they’re released for someone else.
  • Swipe to buy charges the card saved on your account. Swiping is a purchase, so make sure you mean it.
  • Shipping is charged once per show. Buy more spots in the same show and they ship together for no extra shipping.
  • Sales tax is added where required and shown before you pay.

Auctions

  • You need a saved card to bid. Every bid is a promise to buy if you win.
  • If someone bids in the last few seconds, the timer adds a few seconds so everyone gets a fair chance (unless the host calls “sudden death”, which never extends).
  • When the timer ends, the highest bidder wins and their saved card is charged automatically for the winning bid, plus shipping if it’s their first purchase in that show.
  • If the winning card is declined, we may offer the spot to the next bidder or run it again, and repeat declines can lose bidding privileges.
  • Breakers Society staff and partners never bid to push prices up.

Random spots and the wheel

When a random spot is won, the wheel on stream shows which spot you got. The result is picked by our server using a cryptographic random number generator before the wheel spins, from only the spots still open, so every open spot has exactly the same chance. Nobody on the team can choose or change it.

Every draw you win is saved with its time and the spots that were in the pool. You can see your own draws under My random draws on your account page.

Who gets which card

  • A card goes to the spot for the team, driver or player shown on the card. If no team is printed, we go by the uniform or the manufacturer’s checklist.
  • Rookies and traded players go to the team on the card.
  • Cards with two or more teams or players in different spots are given out at random on stream between those spots.
  • Checklists, “pick a card” inserts and cards that don’t fit any spot (like logo or checklist cards) go out at random on stream, or as the break page says.
  • Anything these rules don’t cover is decided by the host on stream, fairly and the same way every time, and that call is final.

No guaranteed hits

Breaking is buying a share of sealed product. We don’t guarantee that any spot gets a hit, an autograph, a numbered card, or any value. What’s inside is set by the manufacturer. Some spots get great cards and some don’t, and cards are collectibles, not investments.

If your spot gets no cards at all in a break, we send you a pack from our own stock so nobody leaves a break empty-handed.

Redemptions

Redemption cards (cards you trade in with the manufacturer for the real card) belong to the spot they hit. We ship you the redemption card, or send you the code for digital redemptions. The manufacturer fulfills redemptions, so we can’t control how long they take, but we’ll help if you get stuck.

Refunds and cancellations

All sales are final once a break starts or a spot is assigned on stream. Because cards come out live and can’t be put back, we can’t refund a spot because of what it did or didn’t pull.

You do get a full refund (including shipping, if nothing else in the show ships to you) when:

  • We cancel a break, or it doesn’t run.
  • A break doesn’t fill and we decide not to run it.
  • You were charged twice or charged the wrong amount.
  • A product turns out not to be what the break page said.

Need to cancel before the break starts? Email us as soon as you can. We’ll do our best but can’t promise it once spots are sold. Refunds go back to your original card and usually show up in 5–10 business days.

Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank. We fix real problems quickly, and filing a chargeback for a purchase you received may get your account closed.

Shipping

  • Cards usually ship within 5 business days after the show, in protective packaging with tracking.
  • All your spots from one show ship together for one shipping charge, shown at checkout.
  • We ship to the address on your account when we pack your order. Keep it up to date on your account page.
  • International shipping is offered for some shows and costs more. You’re responsible for any customs, duties or import taxes in your country.
  • Cards stay safe with us until they ship. We may hold orders a short time to combine shows if you ask.

Local pickup

When local pickup is offered, you can choose it at checkout instead of shipping. The first purchase in a show sets pickup or shipping for that whole show. We’ll hold your cards for up to 30 days, and then reach out to arrange shipping.

Lost or damaged packages

Tell us within 7 days of delivery (or of the expected delivery date if it never shows up) at contact@breakerssociety.com. Include photos of the package and cards if anything is damaged. If a package is lost in the mail or damaged because of how we packed it, we’ll work with the carrier and make it right. Once tracking shows it delivered to your address, we can’t be responsible for theft from your porch or mailbox.

Fair play

  • No one on the team buys spots or bids to influence prices, and no spot is sold before it’s listed for everyone.
  • Randomizing is done on camera or by our server, never by hand off camera.
  • One person, one account. Using several accounts to get around limits, bans or auctions isn’t allowed.

Breaks on Whatnot

Breaks marked On Whatnot are sold and streamed on Whatnot, and Whatnot’s own rules, payments and refunds apply to those. This page covers breaks bought on breakerssociety.com.
